Meet Genevieve Ward, LMHC, NCC...
Genevieve is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington state and a Nationally Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. She has a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University where she received specific training in Play Therapy. She has training in Exposure and Response Prevention as well as Emotion Focused Family Therapy.
Genevieve has been working with children, adolescents and families from diverse cultural backgrounds for 4 years, and has experience providing support in individual and group settings. She enjoys working with LGBTQ+ individuals and has completed trainings around helping clients reclaim their body narrative after sexual trauma.
Genevieve considers her primary treatment orientation to be a Humanistic and Existential approach, however she believes strongly in integrating evidence based and individualized therapeutic modalities. Therefore, she will utilize other frameworks such as Experiential Therapy, ACT, DBT and CBT to tailor the treatment to the needs of the individual and family.
Genevieve views the therapeutic relationship as a shared journey and collaborates with clients and their families to help them feel safe and empowered to challenge their fears and stressors. She believes therapy should be a non-judgmental space to process connections between feelings and thought processes and has experience addressing concerns including eating disorders, OCD, anxiety, depression, trauma and grief.
