Chelsea Westerlund, MFT Intern
Meet Chelsea Westerlund, MFT Intern...
I was inspired to pursue education in therapy through my own mental health journey. Tending to our mental health can take many forms and therapeutic support can be one of those ways. I am a MA candidate in Couple and Family Therapy with a concentration in Sex Therapy. I am pursuing licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Certified Sex Therapist (CST) and can work with individuals, relationships, and families.
I take an open and non-judgmental stance to therapy that is person-centered and strengths based. Providing affirming and validating care is a priority for me to create an environment for exploration of self, identity, and sexuality. I work from a social justice and systems-oriented lens and integrate different modalities, some of which include Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, CBT, and Gottman Method. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in therapy and that means honoring client needs and collaborating on the best approach to meet your goals.
I welcome working with clients of all identities, ages, abilities, sexualities, lifestyles, backgrounds, and relational structures. I enjoy incorporating creativity, music, nature, and client interests into the therapeutic process. I hope to create a space where clients can be themselves and are validated in their authenticity. I would be honored to work with you.
As part of the FCCG Intern Program, interns will be seeing clients at a reduced cash rate of $25 per session.
